Consolidating music files in itunes
If I can do this manually, would I simply drag the existing folders in the i Tunes folder, and relaunch i Tunes? Does i Tunes build its library based on the Location preference found under the Advance tab?* That tab simply tells i Tunes the location of the i Tunes Music folder.

If you need to consolidate files of i Tunes, you should know what consolidate files do in i Tunes.
When you remove all the files of i Tunes library, you have to rebuild i Tunes library.
